The route, which is quite demanding, starts from Langra di Macra (972 m) or alternatively from the Caricatori hamlet, a little higher up. This is where the actual trail begins: at the junction with the Via dei Ciclamini, turn left to reach the Combo della Montana alpine pasture. Continuing through the woods and a small canyon, you reach Grange Cugnet (1517 m) and the alpine pastures of Grangia Orgiera (1652 m) where you turn left through the grass and alpine flowers to reach the pass (1788 m) after Roccia Castello. The descent on the ridge, marked by a small cross along the ridge, proceeds to Grange Casalie (1584 m), from where it then continues on the Occitan Paths to Langa/ Caricatori.
