(66) Sentiero dei Bottai (Coopers’ Path)
The Coopers’ Path, which winds linearly along a trans-municipal route, starts from the car park located downstream of the Borgata Combe (1047) in the Municipality of Celle di Macra. From the car park near a mill and from where you can admire the house with a gabled façade, go up the paved road up to the Chapel of San Martino.
From the Chapel of San Martino, take a small detour to the left, taking the road that crosses the village and runs alongside a house with a fresco by Boneto and the fountain until you reach the area of the many mills that make the village famous. Returning to the chapel, continue along the dirt road that leads to Borgata Sagna and once you reach the parking lot, continue along the small road inside the village up to the restored pylon. Inside the town you can see the community oven, a fresco by Agnesotti, a fresco by Boneto and a fresco of a religious nature painted on a hut once used as an inn. At the votive pillar, continue along the left path that climbs towards the hamlet of Chiatignano. Once in the hamlet of Chiatignano, after admiring the community oven, continue along the grassed carriage road until you reach the parish church dedicated to Santa Maria Assunta.
From here, take the small path that climbs to the right and arrives directly at the parochial churchyard, and continue along it until you reach the Albaretto provincial road. At the crossroads with the SP, turn left and after walking along the paved road for a few meters, leave it to take the small road on the right, which arrives in the hamlet of Serremorello (1316) where the former Town Hall is being restored of Albaretto where the thematic visit point “The coopers” will be located. Continue along the road adjacent to the former Town Hall, pass the Chapel and the former Rectory (with a bell gable) and at the 1st crossroads inside the town, turn left, along the road that leads to the community oven.
From the oven, continue on level ground, following the old mule track known as the Buvra municipal road, which leaves the town in the direction of Garini. Once you reach the SP of Albaretto, cross it and take the cart track that arrives in the lower part of Borgata Garini (1384) where there is a washhouse. You enter the hamlet passing under a covered passage, and climb up among the stone houses, skirting a hut with a fresco by Giors Boneto on the right and the community oven on the left. Once you reach the top of the town, where the Chapel of Madonna delle Grazie is located, turn right along the path that enters the SP of Albaretto. Go up along the SP in the direction of Albaretto and after having traveled it for about a hundred metres, take the path on the left that goes up to Borgata Cucchietto.
Cross the hamlet and after skirting the community oven, continue beyond the built-up area up to a crossroads and continue along the path to the right, in the direction of Colletto, cross the asphalted SP and reach the Chapel of Sant’Anna. From Colletto, taking the ancient route of the old mule track known as the municipal road of Stroppo, you descend to the villages of Aramola and Maurengo, where you can admire the Chapel of San Bartolomeo. Following the route of the POs you go up to Borgata Palent and along the path you can admire the Chapel of San Magno, the now disused oven and a votive pylon.
Inside the Borgata Palent (1463), the arrival point of the itinerary, in addition to the accommodation facility and place “Rifugio Alpino Palent”, there is the community oven, a beautiful building with circular columns and a fresco of Sant’Antonio Abate di Gauteri placed under the porch of a cabin.
