Boulder Saretto

Boulder Saretto

Interesting boulder area located within a larch forest right where the Maira stream rises.
It should be noted that we are within a ZSC (Zona Speciale di Conservazione – “Special Area of Conservation”). The rock here is a limestone-dolomite of excellent quality and some of the boulders are of considerable size.
The area was discovered about 20 years ago by some local climbers, including Diego Pirotti, who laid out most of the routes we find today.
North exposure makes it an ideal place for summer, but it is also recommended in the mid-seasons. Grades from 4 to 7c+ for a total of 10 boulders reviewed.

Access: from Saretto turn left in the direction of the headwaters of the Maira river.
At certain times of summer the road is closed/regulated just outside Saretto, otherwise you can drive up to the parking lot at the springs. The boulder area is in the woods on the left, just across the bridge over the stream.
